Osk Fra Kverna
(sounds like O-sk)
Meaning: "Wish"
Osk was born in 1991. She was imported in March of 2001. Her sire is Brunblesi 953 fra Hoftunum (a 1st prize black stallion with blaze) who’s sire is Ofeigur 818 fra Hvanneyri (1st prize black stallion with 8.55 score overall). Her dam is Stjarna Fra Kverna (a 2nd prize chestnut mare) whose sire is Sorli 876 Fra Stykkisholmi (a 1st prize dark bay). Osk has a BLUP of 99.
She has very nice conformation and her 5 gaits are very comfortable to ride. Osk is the best trail horse I've ever ridden. She's very alert and ready to go on the trail with a lot of energy, but totally controllable. You just have to point, and she'll go wherever you want. She's about as non-spooky as a horse can get.
Osk loves people and could be happily pet and brushed all day long. She's very sweet and mild and was ridden by children in Iceland and as a lesson horse before coming to live with me.
