Kristania was one of those typical little girls who always wanted a horse, dreaming of that "special" horse that would be her best friend. She trained in hunter/jumpers for almost a year at age 12, but was more interested in brushing horses than in going over jumps.
In the summer of 1998 she got the opportunity to work at the Los Alamitos Race Track. She wasn't planning on coming back with a horse, but with all of those retired race horses needing a home, who could resist? Little did she know what she was getting herself into. Needless to say, her hot ex-racehorse was not the bareback riding trail horse she'd always dreamed of.
A year or so later, she decided to look for a second horse, this time determined to find an easy going trail horse that friends and family could ride. She looked for 6 months, trying numerous breeds, getting bucked off a "bomb-proof" horse, and not finding what she was
looking for.
One day she saw an ad on the internet for an "Icelandic Horse". She states, "Having never heard of that particular breed, I decided to take a look. One look, and I fell in love. I just couldn't seem to get the breed off my mind. I bought my first mare and have been slowly collecting the sort of horses I think everyone deserves to own, ever since."
"I often get asked about why I chose the name Amazing Grace Ranch. Born a city kid to non-horsie parents, I feel so blessed to live the horse filled dreams I used to have as a child. I believe a caring and awesome God has given us all amazing grace in our existence and getting to work with horses is just one example of His grace in my life. I am so thankful to be able to do what I love and wanted to be reminded everyday where all the good things in my life come from."
